Bihar Diwas 2025: Day 2 Celebrations Showcase Bihar’s Cultural Grandeur in Patna

Patna: The second day of Bihar Diwas 2025 unfolded in a spectacle of music, dance, and poetry, as Gandhi Maidan in Patna transformed into a vibrant cultural hub. Organised by the Bihar government’s Education Department, the celebrations marked the 113th anniversary of the state’s formation, with this year’s theme— Unnat Bihar, Vikasit Bihar (Advanced Bihar, Developed Bihar)—resonating through the performances.
Dr. S. Siddharth, Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department, toured the exhibition pavilions, engaging with students and praising the organisers for their efforts in showcasing Bihar’s artistic and literary heritage.
Musical and Dance Performances Enthral Audience
As the evening set in, Gandhi Maidan played host to a captivating musical performance by young singer Ritika Raj, whose soulful renditions left the audience spellbound. The highlight of the evening, however, was a mesmerising recital by renowned playback singer Pratibha Singh Baghel, whose voice transported listeners into a world of melody.
At Shri Krishna Memorial Hall, Alok Raj and Ashok Prasad brought Bihar’s folk culture to life through their performances, while celebrated Kathak dancer Neelam Choudhary delivered a spellbinding presentation of classical dance. Her performance drew appreciation from Dr. S. Siddharth and Dr. N. Vijayalakshmi, Additional Chief Secretary of the Animal and Fisheries Department. As a token of recognition, Choudhary was honoured with a shawl and a memento. The evening concluded with a powerful performance by singer Jyoti Nooran, who moved the audience with her emotive renditions.
Poetry and Shayari Take Centre Stage
Meanwhile, at Ravindra Bhawan, a Mushaira and Kavi Sammelan (poetry symposium) brought together poets from across the country. Through wit, satire, and poignant social messages, they captivated the audience, adding a literary dimension to the grand celebration of Bihar’s heritage.
With its blend of cultural traditions and artistic excellence, the Bihar Diwas celebrations continue to reflect the spirit of the state—rich in history, resilient in progress, and vibrant in expression.
