Patna: A large number of visitors gathered at the Transport Department’s pavilion at Gandhi Maidan on Monday, the second day of Bihar Diwas celebrations, to explore various schemes and road safety awareness initiatives. The exhibition saw continuous footfall, with people engaging in interactive activities and competitions.
Over 16,000 Participants Engage in Road Safety Competitions
More than 16,000 children enthusiastically took part in road safety-themed painting, quiz, and slogan competitions. The winners were awarded helmets by the Transport Department to promote the importance of safe driving practices.
‘Wear a Helmet, Stay Safe’ Campaign
Transport Secretary Sanjay Kumar Agarwal urged attendees to wear helmets while riding two-wheelers, emphasizing that road safety is a collective responsibility. “Using a helmet is not just about following the law—it is about protecting lives,” he said.

State Transport Commissioner Naveen Kumar distributed helmets to the winners of various competitions and appealed to parents and children to adhere to road safety rules. He highlighted the necessity of wearing helmets and seatbelts to prevent accidents.
