Patna: On the final day of Bihar Diwas celebrations at Gandhi Maidan, around 600 visitors actively engaged with the Energy Department’s exhibition stall, highlighting growing public interest in the state’s electricity and renewable energy initiatives.
The three-day event, held from March 22 to 24, featured a collaborative stall set up by the Energy Department and the Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited. Visitors sought information on a range of schemes, including the Grid-Connected Solar Rooftop Scheme and the Mukhyamantri Krishi Vidyut Sambandh Yojana (Chief Minister’s Agricultural Electricity Connection Scheme), and explored innovations such as smart meters, rooftop solar plants, and the Suvidha App.
Officials encouraged visitors to use online platforms and social media channels to resolve electricity-related issues and shared details about energy conservation and digital bill payment options. Many attendees provided feedback and suggestions, which were forwarded to relevant authorities for prompt action.
The stall also featured a continuously screening short film on Bihar’s electrification progress and a popular ‘selfie stand’ for youth and families. Visitors praised the initiative for promoting technological awareness and public participation, describing it as an effective platform for both learning and engagement.
“The exhibition not only celebrates Bihar’s culture but also offers practical insights into the state’s energy transformation,” an attendee said.
The event, themed ‘Advanced Bihar, Developed Bihar’, underscored the state government’s efforts to combine public outreach with development and technological education.
