Patna: The Bihar BJP president Dilip Jaiswal has intensified political attacks on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, saying the latter’s lack of seriousness has led to the downfall of the Congress. Speaking to reporters at Patna Airport, Jaiswal claimed that Gandhi’s leadership, political maturity, and even his continued self-projection as a “youth leader” are questionable.
“Rahul Gandhi Is Not Serious About Politics”
Jaiswal asserted that the BJP does not take Rahul Gandhi seriously, remarking that “if he were truly serious about politics, he wouldn’t have to call himself a youth leader at 57.” According to the BJP leader, Gandhi’s repeated positioning as a young politician after decades in politics reflects a lack of credibility and consistency.
“Rahul Gandhi Sank the Congress Ship”
The BJP state chief further blamed Rahul Gandhi for the current state of the Congress, stating that “the party’s downfall is entirely his doing.” He added that Gandhi’s leadership failures have turned the Congress into a shadow of its past, particularly in Bihar, where the party continues to struggle for relevance ahead of the 2025 assembly elections.
Jaiswal’s remarks have reignited political debate in Bihar, adding fuel to the already heated campaign atmosphere after Diwali.
“He Goes Abroad Instead of Working Seriously”
The BJP leader also criticised Rahul Gandhi’s frequent foreign trips, saying that “he never takes politics seriously at the right time.” Referring to Gandhi’s SIR (Save India Rally) and other recent tours, Jaiswal said, “He led rallies and roadshows in Bihar and then left for abroad again. That’s why we can’t consider him a serious leader.”
