Chhapra/Patna : Bihar Energy Secretary and Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited chairman-cum-managing director Ajay Yadav inspected the 132/33 kV Grid Substation (GSS), Chhapra, and the 33/11 kV Power Substation (PSS), Telpa, in Saran district on Thursday.
During the inspection, Yadav reviewed the technical and operational arrangements at both substations and directed officials to ensure strict compliance with prescribed safety procedures.

Focus On SOP And Safety Measures
Yadav inspected the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) register, safety equipment and power transformers installed at the switchyard.
Officials were instructed to follow safety standards strictly during the operation and maintenance of the electrical infrastructure.
Yadav also planted a sapling on the premises during the inspection, highlighting the importance of environmental conservation.

PM Surya Ghar Scheme Reviewed
A review meeting was subsequently held at the Chhapra Circuit House with officials of the Chhapra electricity supply circle.
The meeting covered the power supply system, revenue collection, progress of ongoing projects and implementation of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
Yadav directed officials to ensure that eligible households receive the benefits of the rooftop solar scheme and that its implementation is completed within the prescribed timeline.
Officials Asked To Improve Power Supply
The Energy Secretary also directed officials to focus on improving the overall electricity supply system and ensuring reliable and quality power supply to consumers.
The review included progress on various electricity-related works in Saran and neighbouring areas under the jurisdiction of the electricity supply circle.
Senior Officials Attend Review Meeting
Saran District Magistrate Vaibhav Srivastava and senior officials from the electricity department attended the meeting.
The participants included the Superintending Engineer, Saran, along with Executive Engineers from Chhapra West, Chhapra East, Siwan, Maharajganj, Gopalganj and Mirganj, among others.
The department said the inspection and review were aimed at strengthening electricity infrastructure, improving service delivery and ensuring wider implementation of the PM Surya Ghar scheme in the region.
