Sitamarhi: Authorities in Bihar have intensified action against teachers allegedly appointed using fake educational certificates, with criminal cases filed against three teachers following an investigation by the Vigilance Investigation Bureau in Patna.
The inquiry found the academic credentials of three teachers to be fraudulent, prompting FIRs to be registered at the respective police stations. The education department has also initiated the process to remove the teachers from service.
The teachers named in the investigation are Kumari Aarti Rani, posted at Anandi Sah Primary School in Dera Dema under Parsauni block; Runa Paswan, a teacher at Bhaurgarh Middle School in Bokhara block; and Sudhanshu Kumar, a teacher at Kansar Middle School in Belsand block.
Police cases have been registered under Parsauni police station case number 09/2026, Bokhara police station case number 10/2026 and Belsand police station case number 54/2026.
Investigators found that the Madhyama mark certificates submitted by Aarti Rani and Runa Paswan were forged, while Sudhanshu Kumar’s Intermediate mark sheet was also determined to be fraudulent.
Following the vigilance bureau’s findings, the district education authorities have begun departmental proceedings. District programme officer (establishment) Manish Kumar said the block education officers of Parsauni, Bokhara and Belsand had been instructed to complete the formal process of removing the teachers from their posts in accordance with the rules.
Officials have been directed to submit an action taken report within a week so that details of the measures can be forwarded to the Vigilance Investigation Bureau in Patna.
The latest cases come amid a wider crackdown on fraudulent teacher appointments in the district. In a previous investigation, the educational certificates of more than 112 teachers were found to be fake, and FIRs were registered against them in various police stations.
Authorities said disciplinary action has already been taken against roughly 80% of those teachers as the verification process continues.
