Bihar Government Extends Land Survey Process, Portal to Remain Open

Patna: The Bihar government has decided to continue the land survey process beyond March 31, allowing landowners more time to submit their documents. Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Sanjay Saraogi confirmed that the portal for self-declaration of land details will remain open for a few more days, enabling people to upload their records online or submit them at offline camps organized by the department.
Sanjay Saraogi stated that a final decision on whether to extend the self-declaration deadline will be made after a high-level review. A significant number of landowners have yet to complete the process, with many facing difficulties in accessing records of ancestral land, which are often unavailable on the department’s online portal.
To facilitate submissions, landowners opting for offline self-declaration must visit their village survey office, while those choosing the online route can upload documents through the land survey website. Once submitted, officials—including Amin, Kanungo, and other survey employees—will conduct physical verification of the land.
The government aims to streamline the process and address challenges related to missing records, ensuring a smoother experience for landowners across the state.
