
Patna: In a sweeping administrative overhaul during the election year, the Bihar government on Tuesday transferred 12 IAS officers, 6 IPS officers, and 36 Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs) across the state. The move is aimed at strengthening governance, expediting development work, and enhancing law and order mechanisms.
According to a notification issued by the General Administration Department, new Deputy Development Commissioners (DDCs) have been appointed in eight districts, while new Municipal Commissioners have been posted in three key urban centres. Additionally, a major reshuffle has taken place within the Bihar Administrative Service (BAS), with dozens of officers receiving new responsibilities.

Notably, UPSC topper Shubham Kumar has been appointed as Municipal Commissioner of Bhagalpur, a key post in one of the state’s prominent urban centres. Shivakshi Dixit and Laxman Tiwari have taken charge as Commissioners in Munger and Bettiah respectively.
