Patna: Bihar has taken a step towards accelerating the development of planned and modern greenfield satellite townships, with the state Urban Development and Housing Department signing an agreement with CEPT Research & Development Foundation (CRDF), Ahmedabad.
The agreement will facilitate the establishment of a Technical Support Unit (TSU) to provide technical expertise for urban planning, policy development and spatial development related to the proposed satellite townships.
CEPT-CRDF to Provide Technical Support
Under the agreement, CEPT-CRDF will provide technical assistance to Bihar for the planned development of greenfield satellite townships.
The technical support is expected to cover areas related to modern urban planning, policy formulation and spatial development, helping the state develop a structured framework for future urban expansion.
The Technical Support Unit will work with the state authorities to strengthen planning processes while taking future urban requirements into consideration.
Agreement Signed by Senior Officials
The agreement was formalised by Naval Kishore Chaudhary, Special Secretary, Urban Development and Housing Department, Bihar, and Chief Executive Officer of the Bihar City Development Authority, and Darshan Parikh, Director of CEPT Research & Development Foundation.
The partnership is aimed at bringing specialised urban-planning expertise into the state’s township development initiatives.
