Patna: The Bihar Industries Association (BIA) on May 25 organised an interactive session with representatives from industrial organisations and the entrepreneurial community, focusing on investment promotion, industrial growth, and employment generation in the state.
The meeting was presided over by State Industries Minister Shreyasi Singh, who interacted with stakeholders on policy implementation and operational challenges faced by businesses across Bihar.
Focus on Investment and Industrial Growth
During the session, discussions centred on strengthening Bihar’s industrial ecosystem, improving ease of doing business, and accelerating job creation. Participants from multiple districts shared suggestions and concerns related to infrastructure, regulatory processes, and sector-specific hurdles.
BIA president Ramlal Khetan said Bihar is currently witnessing a “positive phase” in industrial development, supported by what he described as a coordinated approach between the Centre and the State. He noted that the state government has set an investment target of Rs 5 lakh crore in the coming years.
He added that while attracting new investment is important, sustaining existing industries is equally critical. According to him, established entrepreneurs act as “brand ambassadors” for Bihar’s industrial climate.
Government Response and Policy Review
Industries Minister Shreyasi Singh outlined ongoing government efforts to promote industrialisation and employment opportunities. She said the state’s priority remains expanding industrial activity and creating jobs for young people.
She assured participants that all issues raised during the meeting would be reviewed at the departmental level. A joint meeting between officials and entrepreneurs will be held soon to address practical challenges, she said.
Memorandum and Stakeholder Participation
BIA vice-president Purushottam Kumar Agarwal submitted a memorandum to the minister highlighting key concerns and recommendations related to industrial development.
Representatives from various industrial organisations across Bihar also participated in the discussion, sharing feedback on existing policies and ground-level challenges.
The session was anchored by Manish Kumar Tiwari, chairman of the organisation’s Networking Sub-Committee, while Mahesh Jalan introduced the minister. The vote of thanks was delivered by general secretary Amarnath Jaiswal.
A large number of entrepreneurs and industry representatives attended the programme.
