Patna: The Bihar government has published a concise guide on disciplinary procedures, aiming to improve transparency and accountability among state officials.
The handbook was unveiled at the Old Secretariat in Patna by Deepak Kumar Singh, Director General-cum-Chief Enquiry Commissioner; Harjot Kaur Bamhra, Chairperson of the Board of Revenue; and Dr B. Rajender, Additional Chief Secretary, General Administration and Education Department.
Designed as a user-friendly version of a previously compiled comprehensive volume, the guide summarises key constitutional provisions, prescribed procedures, and significant judicial rulings in a simplified format. Officials involved in disciplinary matters are expected to use it as a practical reference, helping to prevent procedural lapses and ensure that action is fair, consistent, and legally sound.
“The Bihar government gives the highest importance to the transparency and accountability of its officers,” a statement issued during the launch said. “This publication is a reflection of that commitment.”
The handbook forms part of the state’s ongoing efforts to strengthen governance mechanisms and enhance procedural clarity in disciplinary proceedings.
