Muzaffarpur: A 40-year-old man was killed after being accused of stealing a chicken in Koili village, Muzaffarpur. The deceased, identified as Sanjay Sahni, was reportedly caught by poultry farm operator Ramesh Sahni late on Thursday night.
According to local reports, Ramesh Sahni tied Sanjay to a tree and beat him severely. The victim succumbed to his injuries before a planned village panchayat could take place on Friday morning.
Police confirmed that Ramesh Sahni has been arrested and an FIR will be filed following a complaint from the victim’s family. Authorities are also investigating the accused’s past record.
The incident has sparked outrage in the village. Sanjay’s family—including his parents and two children, Mala (12) and Mangal (6)—expressed their grief, describing him as the primary earner. Villagers have demanded strict action against the accused, while police presence has been increased to prevent further unrest.
