Patna, September 24: Four new toll plazas are planned on three state highways passing through Nalanda district, with the Bihar State Road Development Corporation Limited (BSRDCL) issuing tenders for their construction.
The proposed toll plazas will come up on SH-78 Chandi-Noorsarai-Sarmera Road, SH-71 Jehanabad-Parwati Path and SH-4 Daniwan-Gaya Road.
The four structures are estimated to cost Rs 37.95 crore, with the construction period set at three months.
Four Toll Plazas On Three State Highways
According to the tender details, one toll plaza will be constructed on SH-78, two on SH-71 and one on SH-4.
The projects are part of the state’s planned toll infrastructure on selected state highways.
Toll Plaza On SH-78
A toll plaza will be constructed on SH-78 Chandi-Noorsarai-Sarmera Road near Timuhana, north of Noorsarai.
The plaza will have eight lanes, with four lanes on each side. Its estimated construction cost is Rs 13.38 crore.
Two Toll Plazas On SH-71
Two toll plazas are proposed on SH-71 Jehanabad-Parwati Path.
Both will have six lanes, with the combined estimated construction cost put at Rs 16.25 crore.
The highway passes through Jehanabad, Ghoshi, Islampur, Rajgir, Giriyak and Katrisarai before reaching Parwati.
One Toll Plaza On SH-4
The third highway covered by the project is SH-4 Daniwan-Gaya Road, where one six-lane toll plaza is planned.
The estimated cost of this plaza is Rs 8.30 crore. The exact location of the facility has not yet been finalised, according to the tender information.
Tender Process Begins September 24
The tender documents can be downloaded and online applications submitted from September 24 to October 2.
The pre-bid meeting is scheduled for September 30, while the deadline for submitting online bids is October 8.
The technical bids are also scheduled to be opened on October 8.
Construction Target Of Three Months
BSRDCL has specified a three-month construction period for the toll plazas.
The actual start of construction will depend on completion of the tender process, selection of the agency and issuance of the work order.
Once completed, the four toll plazas will form part of the toll infrastructure on the three state highways passing through the Nalanda region.
