Nawada/Patna: A woman from Bihar’s Nawada district was allegedly murdered in Daman, with police accusing her live-in partner of killing her and concealing her body inside a trolley bag before fleeing.

The victim has been identified as a resident of Siur village under the Roh police station limits in Nawada district.

Family Informed After Daman Police Alert

Rahul Abhishek, Station House Officer (SHO) of Roh police station, said the local police were informed of the incident by the Daman Police on Sunday.

“We received information from the Daman Police that a young woman from Siur village had been murdered. Her family has been informed and has already left for Daman,” the SHO said.

Couple Had Been Living Together In Daman

According to the woman’s family, she had left her husband and eloped with Rishabh, a man from the same village, on May 6, 2024.

The family said an abduction case had been registered at Roh police station after she disappeared, but she never returned home.

Police said the couple had since been living together in a rented accommodation in Daman and had little or no contact with their families in Bihar.

Body Allegedly Hidden In Suitcase

According to the Roh police, information received from Daman investigators indicates that the woman was allegedly murdered following a dispute with Rishabh.

Police said the accused allegedly stuffed the body into a large trolley bag in an attempt to conceal the crime.

Investigators believe he intended to remove the suitcase from the rented room but fled after failing to do so, leaving the room locked.

Several days later, the landlord reportedly alerted the police after a foul smell began emanating from the room. Officers forced open the door and recovered the woman’s body from inside the trolley bag.

Report Of Child’s Death Yet To Be Confirmed

Police said there are reports suggesting that the woman’s daughter may also have been killed.

However, officials said this has not been officially confirmed, and the matter remains under investigation.

Search Underway For Accused

The Daman Police have registered a murder case and launched a search for the absconding accused.

Investigators are working to establish the motive behind the killing and determine when the alleged murder took place.

The incident has shocked residents of Siur village in Nawada, where the victim’s family is awaiting further developments in the investigation.
