Patna: Dr Prabhat Ranjan, a prominent pathologist from Bihar and director of the Diagnostic & Research Center in Patna, has been awarded the Fellowship of the Commonwealth Medical Association (CMA). The honour was conferred at a CMA event held in Hyderabad, which focused on the growing role of artificial intelligence and digital technologies in healthcare.
The fellowship was presented to Dr Ranjan by the chief justice of India, Justice Suryakant. Speaking at the event, CMA president Prof JA Jayalal commended Dr Ranjan for his significant work in pathology and public health, particularly his contributions during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Dr Jayalal also highlighted Dr Ranjan’s sustained cancer awareness campaign in rural Bihar, describing it as a vital effort in strengthening public health in underserved areas.
After receiving the fellowship, Dr Ranjan said he was grateful for the recognition and dedicated the honour to the people of Bihar. He added that he would continue working to improve healthcare access and services across the state.
