Bihar Plans Industrial Expansion With Over 11,000 Acres of Proposed Land Acquisition
Patna: The Bihar Industries Department has received proposals for acquiring 11,104 acres of land from various districts to develop new industrial areas. These proposals have been forwarded to the Infrastructure Development Authority (IDA) for further review and action.
In Patna district, 245.61 acres have been earmarked for acquisition to establish new industrial zones. Meanwhile, the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) currently holds 1,407 acres of land available for industrial projects. Vaishali district tops the list with the highest proposed land acquisition at 1,321.64 acres, followed by Begusarai at 991.225 acres and Bhagalpur at 833.50 acres.
According to official information from the Industry Department, the IDA has so far reviewed and assessed land proposals from 14 districts. Out of this, 376.11 acres of government land and 1,380.42 acres of privately owned Raiti land were found suitable for industrial development. However, 531.32 acres of government land and 583.51 acres of Raiti land in these districts were deemed unsuitable.
The IDA is currently reviewing land proposals from 24 districts. Once the assessments are complete, the land acquisition process will begin.
With the growing focus on industrial expansion, the state government aims to attract investments and boost economic development through these proposed industrial zones.
