Nalanda / Patna : A dramatic encounter between Bihar’s Special Task Force (STF) and armed criminals unfolded in Nalanda district, culminating in the arrest of a notorious gang leader and his associates. The incident, which saw a hail of bullets exchanged, began when police pursued a bulletproof vehicle carrying the suspects.
According to officials, the STF had received intelligence that arms smugglers and land mafias were traveling in a fortified Ford Endeavour, moving from Harnaut market towards Bihar Sharif. Acting swiftly, a joint team of STF and Nalanda Police launched a high-speed chase.
Criminals Ram Police Vehicle, Fire Indiscriminately
As the pursuit reached Sartha village, the criminals allegedly rammed the STF vehicle, causing it to veer off the road into a ditch. Immediately after, the suspects exited their bulletproof car and opened fire on the police. The STF responded in kind, leading to a tense exchange of gunfire.
Five Arrested, Cache of Weapons Seized
During the encounter, police successfully apprehended Kishan Singh, the alleged leader of the gang, along with his accomplice Arvind Singh and three other history-sheeters. A search of Kishan Singh yielded a 9mm pistol and two loaded magazines. Following his interrogation, police raided Arvind Singh’s residence, recovering rifles, cartridges, and revolvers.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Arvind Singh, his son Ravi Singh, along with Munna Kumar and Kundan Kumar.
A Bulletproof Car Worth Rs45 Lakh
Investigations have revealed that the bulletproof Ford Endeavour belonged to Kundan Singh, another notorious criminal. The vehicle, originally worth Rs30 lakh, was reportedly modified for an additional Rs15 lakh at a facility in Pune.
