Patna: The Bihar Police Constable Recruitment Examination 2025 has officially begun today, marking the start of one of the largest recruitment drives in the state. The exam is being conducted for 19,838 constable posts, with over 16.73 lakh candidates issued admit cards.
The written examination will be held in six phases on July 16, 20, 23, 27, 30 and August 3, across 627 exam centres in all 38 districts of Bihar. Around 2.5 to 3 lakh candidates are expected to appear in each phase.
Exam Day Guidelines: Early Reporting and Strict Entry Rules
The examination will take place from 12 noon to 2 PM, but candidates are required to report at the centres by 9:30 AM. Entry gates will be closed after 10:30 AM, and latecomers will not be allowed under any circumstances.
To enter the examination hall, candidates must carry a valid photo ID (Aadhar card, passport, driving licence, PAN card or voter ID) along with their e-admit card. Failure to produce either document will result in disqualification from the exam.
Banned Items and Examination Security
Candidates are not allowed to bring their own pens, pencils or any writing materials. These will be provided at the examination centre. Additionally, mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, and other electronic gadgets are strictly banned. Violation of these rules could lead to disciplinary action.
To prevent cheating and malpractice, the entire exam process will be conducted under CCTV surveillance, with live monitoring from the headquarters in Patna. Furthermore, biometric thumb impressions of both hands will be taken and later matched during the Physical Efficiency Test (PET).
Jammers will be deployed to block 5G, Wi-Fi, and mobile networks at all centres during the exam duration.
EOU Alert Against Exam Scams
The Economic Offenses Unit (EOU) has issued a warning to candidates against falling prey to fraudulent calls and messages promising leaked question papers or guaranteed selection.
The EOU has urged aspirants to report any suspicious activity to the nearest police or cyber police station. They can also use the helpline 8544428404 or email digeou-bih@gov.in to report scams. Candidates have been asked not to forward any misleading or unverified messages on social media or messaging platforms.
Selection Process: Written Test Followed by PET
The recruitment process consists of two stages:
- Written Examination:
- Total of 100 questions, each carrying 1 mark.
- This stage is qualifying only, and its score will not be counted in the final merit.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
- Includes running, high jump, and shot put.
- The final merit list will be based solely on PET performance.
- No interview will be conducted for this recruitment.
District Administrations in Charge
To ensure smooth conduct of the exam, District Magistrates (DMs) have been appointed as examination coordinators, while Superintendents of Police (SPs) will act as co-coordinators.
