Patna: Online consumer services of North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (NBPDCL) and South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (SBPDCL) will remain unavailable for 24 hours from 8:00 PM on June 27 to 8:00 PM on June 28 due to the migration of their billing system to a new software platform.
The two power distribution companies said the temporary disruption is part of a technical upgrade aimed at improving digital services for electricity consumers across Bihar.
Online Services to Remain Unavailable
During the migration period, consumers will not be able to access several online services, including electricity bill payments, smart prepaid meter recharges, applications for new electricity connections, load modifications, name changes and bill correction requests.
NBPDCL and SBPDCL have advised consumers to complete pending electricity bill payments and smart prepaid meter recharges before 8:00 PM on June 27 to avoid inconvenience during the maintenance window.
Smart Meter Consumers Assured of Uninterrupted Power
The power distribution companies clarified that electricity supply to smart prepaid meter consumers will not be interrupted during the migration period, even if they are unable to recharge their meters while the online services remain unavailable.
According to the companies, power supply will continue normally and no consumer will face disconnection solely because a recharge could not be completed during the software migration.
Upgrade Aimed at Improving Digital Services
NBPDCL and SBPDCL appealed to consumers to cooperate and remain patient during the scheduled disruption.
The companies said the migration to the new billing software is an important step towards strengthening their digital infrastructure and enhancing the quality of online consumer services in the future.
