Patna: Eighty-six young women from across Bihar have been selected for internships at Tata Electronics under the state government’s Chief Minister’s Pratigya Yojana, a scheme aimed at equipping young people with job-oriented skills and improving their employment prospects.
The candidates, chosen by Urmila International Services Private Limited (UISPL) under the Bihar Skill Development Mission, come from varied backgrounds — from lower-middle-income families to those who have faced acute financial hardship. What unites them, officials said, is a determination to build meaningful careers.
They will undergo training at Tata Electronics in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, where they will learn mobile assembly, quality control and work processes linked to advanced technologies.
Stipends and full support for trainees

Under the Pratigya Yojana, trainees interning at Tata Electronics will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 11,000 from the Bihar government, while those who have completed Class 12 will receive Rs 9,000. Tata Electronics will additionally provide a stipend of Rs 13,480 and a Rs 1,000 bonus for full attendance. Travel, food and accommodation will also be offered at no cost.
UISPL described the scheme as one of the state’s most impactful, noting that awareness among young people is rising and applications are steadily increasing. Companies such as Flipkart are expected to join the initiative in the coming months, broadening opportunities for Bihar’s youth.
Expanding access to skills and economic independence

Officials said the scheme is designed not only to provide training but also to help young people gain economic independence through skill-based employment. The achievement of the 86 candidates, they added, has become a source of encouragement for others in the state.
The initiative demonstrates, they said, that with the right support and access to training, young people from Bihar — including young women who often face compounded barriers — can pursue competitive careers and build futures in emerging industries.
