Patna, September 23: The Bihar Industries Department has launched a revamped Single Window Clearance Portal, bringing 62 services across nine departments onto a single digital platform for investors.
The portal is designed to help investors identify required approvals, apply for licences, upload licences already obtained and track applications online, reducing the need to navigate multiple departmental systems.
The portal was launched by Kundan Kumar, Secretary, Department of Industries, in the presence of senior department officials and representatives of industry bodies including CII Bihar, Bihar Industries Association, Bihar Chamber of Commerce and Industries, DICCI, Indian Chamber of Commerce and Laghu Udyog Bharati.
Know Your Approval Module
A revamped Know Your Approval (KYA) module allows investors to identify approvals required at different stages of a project.
The system categorises requirements under Pre-Establishment and Pre-Operation stages. Once the relevant approvals are identified, investors can directly access the application facility through the same interface.
This creates a digital link between identifying an approval and submitting the corresponding application.

Services From Nine Departments
The Single Window portal currently integrates services from departments and agencies covering areas such as pollution control, excise and registration, legal metrology, water resources, fire services, energy, environment and forests, road construction, and revenue and land reforms.
According to the Industries Department, bringing these services together is intended to make the approval process more accessible and reduce procedural steps for investors.
Investor Facilitation Before Application
The revamped system also includes pre-application facilities such as Register Your Intent, Strategic Partnership and Investor Facilitation.
Through these mechanisms, investors can connect with designated sector- and district-level officials, book appointments and access published contact details before submitting formal applications.
Industries Department On Digital System
Kundan Kumar said the revamped Single Window system would provide greater transparency and visibility in the approval process.
“By integrating services, application facilities and investor facilitation, we are creating a more structured system where investors can track their requirements and applications through a single platform,” he said.
Mukul Kumar Gupta, Director, Industries, said the revamped portal was aimed at strengthening Bihar’s Ease of Doing Business ecosystem.
He said the objective was to provide investors with a digital journey covering approval identification, applications, document uploads and investor facilitation while reducing avoidable procedural complexity.
The Industries Department said it would continue to expand the Single Window ecosystem to provide a more integrated platform for approvals and investor services in Bihar.
