Patna: The Bihar Revenue and Land Reforms Department has directed all inter-district transferred revenue employees who have not yet reported to their new postings to do so within the next 24 hours, warning that failure to comply will result in departmental disciplinary proceedings.

According to the department, the directive was issued by Revenue and Land Reforms Secretary Jai Singh after it was found that some employees had not joined their assigned districts despite transfer orders issued in July.

Department Cites Earlier Transfer Orders

According to the department, inter-district transfers and postings were carried out through Order No. 298(4) dated July 14, 2026, Order No. 326(4) dated July 23, 2026, and Order No. 336(4) dated July 28, 2026.

Officials said that despite these orders, several revenue employees have yet to submit their joining reports at their newly allotted districts.

Disciplinary Action Warned for Non-Compliance

According to Secretary Jai Singh, employees who fail to join their assigned postings within the stipulated 24-hour period will face departmental disciplinary action without being granted any further opportunity.

He said the department would not tolerate non-compliance with officially issued transfer orders.

District Officials Asked to Submit Names

The secretary has instructed District Magistrates and other concerned officials to submit the names of employees who fail to report to their new postings immediately after the deadline expires.

According to the department, the information will be used to initiate disciplinary proceedings in accordance with service rules.

Government Stresses Administrative Accountability

According to Jai Singh, the state government’s objective is to build an administration that is accountable, disciplined and citizen-centric.

He said every revenue employee is expected to comply with departmental orders within the prescribed timeframe and assume charge at their new place of posting without delay.
