Patna: Bihar has secured investment commitments worth Rs 1,476 crore at Bharat Tex 2026 after signing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with leading textile and apparel companies on the opening day of the event in New Delhi. The proposed investments are expected to create employment opportunities for more than 40,500 people.

Bharat Tex 2026, a four-day event being held at Bharat Mandapam, began on Tuesday and is being billed as India’s largest global textile gathering. The MoUs were signed during a knowledge session organised on the inaugural day.

Participating as a Partner State, Bihar highlighted its expanding textile and apparel ecosystem through a dedicated state pavilion.

The Bihar Pavilion was jointly inaugurated by Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh and Bihar Industries Minister Shreyasi Singh. Senior officials present at the event included Industries Secretary Kundan Kumar, Bihar Bhawan Resident Commissioner Manoj Kumar Singh, Directorate of Handloom and Silk official Vidya Nand Singh, and Industries Director Mukul Kumar Gupta.

Shreyasi Singh said Bihar is emerging as one of the country’s promising destinations for textile and apparel manufacturing, adding that the state is working to expand industrial opportunities and attract fresh investments.

Kundan Kumar said Bihar’s participation in Bharat Tex 2026 would help connect businesses from the state with new domestic and international markets, strengthen industry partnerships, and create fresh opportunities across the textile sector.

Several textile and apparel companies are exhibiting their products at the Bihar Pavilion. Participants include Saavi Global, Gramin Khadi Gramodyog Vikas Sangh, Gopalan Silk, Eco Tussar Silk Pvt. Ltd., High Spirit Commercial Ventures Pvt. Ltd., New Zeal Fashion Wear Pvt. Ltd., Arthomedic Foundation, Competence Exports Pvt. Ltd., NIFT Patna, and Madlama Group.
