West Champaran: Bihar has witnessed a significant surge in the number of people applying for online driving licences and learning licences this year. Between January and June, 11,580 individuals acquired online learning licences, reflecting the growing preference for digital access to essential services.
According to official data from the Transport Department, West Champaran ranked first with 4,458 online learning licences issued. Patna secured the second spot with 1,179 applicants, while Sitamarhi stood third with 1,104.
Overall, a total of 3,52,519 people obtained learning licences in the past six months, with Muzaffarpur district alone accounting for 40,000 – the highest in the state.
In Patna district, 22,365 learning licences were issued to men and 1,803 to women. During the same period, 2,92,942 driving licences were issued across Bihar, with Muzaffarpur again leading at 30,185. In the capital, 16,218 driving licences were distributed, comprising over 15,000 men and 1,134 women.
