Patna: Cold weather conditions have tightened their grip on Bihar, with minimum temperatures dipping sharply across the state. Nine cities recorded temperatures around 10°C, while Kishanganj was the coldest in the last 24 hours at 8.3°C. In contrast, Forbesganj (Araria) recorded the highest temperature of 28.4°C.
Dense Fog Covers Over 10 Cities
A thick layer of fog blanketed more than 10 cities—including Khagaria, Madhubani, Supaul, and Bettiah—on Friday morning, severely reducing visibility. Madhubani, Supaul, and Sitamarhi reported near-zero visibility, making travel extremely risky. Motorists were forced to drive at speeds as low as 10 kmph with headlights on.
Statewide Drop in Minimum Temperatures
According to data recorded on the morning of December 11, Kishanganj’s 8.3°C was the lowest temperature in Bihar, marking a fresh drop in winter intensity. Motihari, Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur (Sabore), Munger, and Kishanganj also reported falling night temperatures.
Patna Weather to Remain Stable
Patna is expected to experience stable weather for now, though the minimum temperature is seeing a gradual decline. By December 13, the city’s minimum temperature is forecast to stay between 13°C and 14°C, while the maximum temperature is likely to hover between 23°C and 24°C.
In the last 24 hours, Patna recorded a minimum of 12.6°C. The day began with fog, but sunshine returned by late morning, normalising the daytime weather. However, night temperatures continue to dip, adding a noticeable chill to the evenings.
