Patna: These airports are in Madhubani, Saharsa, Birpur (Supaul), Valmikinagar (West Champaran), Muzaffarpur, and Munger. Spirit Air LLP has been chosen to operate flights on these routes.
The flights will connect these airports to Bihta near Patna and also to Varanasi. This will make travel easier for people who now depend on trains or long road journeys. Small planes with eight seats will be used on each route, with 64 seats available per week under the scheme.
Bihar Chief Secretary Amritlal Meena said this is a proud moment for the state as six airports are being revived together. He said that these flights will help the people of Seemanchal, Mithila, Tirhut, and Ang regions by improving travel and supporting economic and tourism growth.
The flights will begin once basic facilities like terminals, air traffic control, and security are ready at these airports. The state government is working to provide these facilities quickly so that air services can start without delay.
