Patna: Bihar Sports University, Rajgir, in collaboration with the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Patna, concluded its inaugural Advanced Refresher Course for physical education lecturers on Saturday with a certificate distribution ceremony held on campus.

The six-day training programme, part of a broader Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions, brought together 37 lecturers from across the state. The course featured a total of 23 sessions — 15 conducted in person and eight delivered online — focused on contemporary research, developments and practices in physical education and sports science. Sessions were led by subject experts drawn from across India.

The closing ceremony was attended by Vice Chancellor Shishir Sinha, Registrar Rajni Kant, Controller of Examinations and Dean Nishikant Tiwari, and Dr Syed Mohammad Ayub, head of the SCERT Physical Education Department. Consultants Roshan Kumar and Ajit Kumar of the University Training Cell were acknowledged for their role in coordinating the programme.

During the event, the Vice Chancellor released a new book titled History, Principles and Basic Structure of Physical Education, authored by Dr Ranjita Priyadarshini, a lecturer at DIET, Gopalganj. A copy of Physical Education Success Key, written by Dr Ayub, was also presented to the Vice Chancellor.

In his closing remarks, Registrar Rajni Kant thanked participants, organisers and guests, expressing hope that the training would help enrich physical education pedagogy across the state.
