Bihar: Sub Inspector Injured in Late Night Shootout; Miscreants Open Fire on Patna Police

PATNA – Late on Sunday night in Patna, Inspector Phoolan Ram of Beur police station fell victim to a gunshot fired by miscreants. The bullet struck the inspector’s hand, but officials report that his condition is stable, and he is out of danger. After receiving first aid, Inspector Phoolan Ram has been sent home.

The incident took place near Beur Mod when a police team ventured out late at night to apprehend criminals involved in theft activities. As the police approached, the criminals responded with gunfire.

Authorities managed to apprehend three of the criminals attempting to flee the scene, recovering a pistol and bullets from their possession. Continuous raids are underway to apprehend the remaining suspects involved in the shooting.

Vikram Sihag, the Sub-Divisional Officer of Phulwari Sharif Police, confirmed the incident, revealing that four criminals managed to escape in the cover of darkness. However, efforts are ongoing to capture them soon.

The chain of events began when the Beur police station received information about seven criminals stealing batteries from a telecom tower near Beur Mod. Promptly responding to the tip-off, the Beur police station and 112 vehicle reached the location. Upon realizing the police presence, the criminals resorted to firing upon the law enforcement officers.

During the exchange of gunfire, Sub Inspector Phoolan Ram sustained an injury to his hand. Despite the setback, the police managed to apprehend three of the criminals attempting to flee the scene.
