Patna: The Bihar Education Department has revised the schedule for the transfer of government school teachers, postponing the online application process in view of the state’s flood situation.
Under the revised schedule, teachers will be able to submit their transfer applications through the e-ShikshaKosh portal from October 4 to 10. The application process was earlier scheduled to begin on September 17.
New Vacancy List to Be Released on October 1
Before teachers submit their applications, the Education Department will release a fresh list of vacant teaching positions on October 1.
The list will indicate the schools where vacancies are available, allowing teachers to review the options before submitting their transfer preferences.
Teachers will be able to select their preferred schools in order of priority while filling out the online application.
Applications Open From October 4 to 10
The revised application window will remain open for seven days, from October 4 through October 10.
Teachers will have to apply online through the e-ShikshaKosh portal and list their preferred schools according to their choice.
The preference order submitted by teachers will form part of the transfer process under the revised schedule.
Earlier Application Date Was September 17
The transfer application process was initially scheduled to begin on September 17.
However, the Education Department postponed the schedule following the flood situation and natural disaster conditions in Bihar.
The department announced the revised dates on Sunday and instructed teachers to follow the new schedule for submitting their applications.
Transfer Process to Continue Until November 18
The process will not end with the submission of applications.
After the application window closes, the department will prepare and publish the transfer list. Teachers who have concerns or objections regarding the transfer list will also be given an opportunity to submit their complaints.
The revised schedule provides for the completion of the transfer-related process, including grievance handling, between October 12 and November 18.
Teachers Asked to Follow Revised Schedule
The Education Department has said the transfer schedule was changed because of the prevailing flood situation and natural disaster conditions in the state.
Teachers seeking transfers will therefore need to apply according to the revised dates and use the e-ShikshaKosh portal during the designated application window.
The release of the vacancy list on October 1 will give teachers an opportunity to assess available posts before making their school preferences.
