Patna: The controversy around the alleged deletion of names from Bihar’s voter list has taken another turn, as the Election Commission confirmed that claims made by three individuals — Ranju Devi of Rohtas, Subodh Kumar of Nawada, and Aman Kumar of Aurangabad — were false.
Aman Kumar had recently told Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav during their outreach in Aurangabad that his name was missing from the draft voter list. However, a fact check by the district administration showed his name was present. In a video statement, Aman admitted that due to not checking properly, he had mistakenly said his name was deleted and clarified that he now had no objections.
Earlier, Ranju Devi had claimed her and her family’s names were missing, while Subodh Kumar alleged his name was removed despite voting in the Lok Sabha elections. The Election Commission’s inquiry revealed both claims were inaccurate — Ranju’s family was on the list, while Subodh had never been registered in the first place and refused to apply when advised.
