Patna: The monsoon is fully active in Bihar, and the Meteorological Center has issued a yellow alert for rain in 32 districts on Friday. Along with rain, strong winds and lightning are also expected in these districts.
Dense fog was recorded in Supaul, Gopalganj, and Bettiah on Friday morning, while skies remained overcast in several other parts of the state. In Supaul, visibility dropped to nearly 70 meters due to the fog.
According to the Meteorological Center, the monsoon will remain active in Bihar for the next two to four days. During this period, light to moderate showers are likely across many districts, with heavy rainfall predicted in isolated pockets. Officials have cautioned that continuous rain may raise river water levels, triggering waterlogging and possible flooding in low-lying areas.
In the last 24 hours, rainfall was reported from Patna, Kishanganj, Chhapra, Gopalganj, and Samastipur. The fresh spell of rain is expected to lower maximum temperatures by 2–3 degrees Celsius, providing some respite from the prevailing humid conditions.
