The IMD has forecast storm activity and rainfall in districts including:
- Patna
- Gaya
- Muzaffarpur

Heatwave Conditions Continue in Parts of Bihar
Despite the changing weather pattern, heatwave conditions persisted in isolated parts of Bihar over the past 24 hours.
According to the weather department:
- Maximum daytime temperatures remained significantly above normal levels
- Several districts continued to experience severe heat stress
However, isolated rainfall activity was also recorded in parts of the state.
Heavy Rain and Strong Winds Recorded
Officials said:
- Pranpur in Katihar district recorded 7cm of rainfall during the past 24 hours
- Madhepura witnessed strong winds reaching speeds of 56kmph
Meteorologists said an upper-air cyclonic circulation currently active over South Bihar and adjoining regions was contributing to the unstable weather conditions.
Heatwave Warning Remains in Effect
The IMD cautioned that heatwave conditions could continue in some parts of Bihar between May 24 and May 26 despite the possibility of rainfall elsewhere.
Authorities said the state was currently witnessing a mixed weather pattern, with some districts facing severe heat while others experienced storm activity and rainfall.
Heavy Rainfall Likely in Isolated Areas
The weather department has forecast:
- Scattered to moderate rainfall across Bihar from May 24 to May 28
- Thunderstorms and lightning activity in several districts
- Heavy rainfall at isolated places between May 24 and May 27
Officials advised residents to remain cautious during thunderstorms and avoid open areas, trees and electric poles during adverse weather conditions.
The changing weather pattern comes amid an intense heatwave phase that has affected large parts of Bihar over recent weeks, with temperatures crossing 40C in multiple districts.
