Patna: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rainfall in nine districts of north Bihar on Thursday, while Patna and 20 other districts are expected to witness partly cloudy skies. The remaining eight districts are likely to experience normal weather conditions, with no significant rainfall expected.
With limited rain activity and intermittent sunshine, residents are likely to experience humid and uncomfortable weather across several parts of the state.
On Wednesday, heavy rainfall was recorded in Patna, Purnia, Begusarai, Khagaria, Madhepura, Saharsa, Supaul, and Jehanabad, while several other districts witnessed cloudy conditions.
According to the Meteorological Centre, heavy rainfall is likely to occur after July 25 in Patna, Samastipur, Vaishali, Bhojpur, Buxar, Jehanabad, and adjoining districts.
Despite isolated showers, the southwest monsoon remains weak over Bihar. The state has received only 216.6 mm of rainfall so far against the normal 414.4 mm, leaving the seasonal rainfall 37% below normal.
The rainfall deficit has started affecting agricultural activities across the state. Farmers in several paddy-growing regions are facing difficulties in transplantation due to inadequate rainfall. Water levels in reservoirs and rivers have also failed to rise as expected.
Experts warn that if Bihar does not receive widespread rainfall in the coming days, the impact on agriculture and water resources could become more severe.

Patna is expected to witness generally cloudy skies throughout the day, with occasional sunshine. The likelihood of significant rainfall remains low, although light drizzles may occur in isolated areas.
Humidity is expected to remain high, making daytime conditions uncomfortable. With wind speeds likely to remain light, residents may experience increased heat and discomfort. Weather conditions are expected to be relatively pleasant during the morning and evening hours compared to the afternoon.
