Patna : Bihar is likely to experience relatively subdued weather on September 21, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing no special warning for the state.
The weather is expected to remain partly cloudy in several areas, with temperatures continuing to stay on the higher side. The IMD’s Patna forecast puts the minimum temperature at around 28°C and the maximum at 36°C on September 21.
Rain Activity Likely To Increase From September 23
The weather pattern is expected to change from September 23, when rainfall and thunderstorm activity are likely to become more prominent across parts of Bihar.
The IMD forecast for Patna indicates the possibility of rain or thundershowers towards the evening or night on September 23. The city could then see generally cloudy conditions with light rain or drizzle on September 24, followed by another spell of rain or thundershowers on September 25.
District-level forecasts also point to increasing rainfall activity in other parts of Bihar. In Madhubani, for instance, the IMD has forecast the possibility of rain or thunderstorms on September 23, with a thunderstorm accompanied by lightning warning for that day.
Bay Of Bengal System To Influence Weather
The expected change is linked to a developing weather system over the Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas. The system is expected to strengthen and move west-northwestwards, increasing moisture and rainfall activity over eastern India.
The source report said the system could develop into a depression and subsequently a deep depression, with its influence expected to become more noticeable in Bihar from September 23–24.
Temperatures May Fall
The increase in rainfall is also expected to bring some relief from the prevailing warmth.
In Patna, the maximum temperature is forecast to fall from around 36°C on September 21 to 34°C on September 23 and 33°C on September 24. The minimum temperature is also expected to gradually ease, reaching around 25°C by September 25.
The broader weather outlook similarly indicates a cooler trend as rainfall activity increases across the state.
What Bihar Can Expect Next
For September 21, residents should expect warm and partly cloudy conditions without a special IMD warning. The weather is expected to become more active from September 23, with rain, thunderstorms and lightning possible in several areas.
The IMD’s district-wise warning system should be monitored for more specific alerts as the Bay of Bengal system develops and its movement becomes clearer.
