Patna: Weather conditions across Bihar remained varied on Friday, with southern regions including the state capital experiencing hot and dry conditions, while parts of north Bihar saw relatively stable weather with partial cloud cover.
According to the Meteorological Centre in Patna, the next 24 hours are expected to remain dry in the capital and adjoining areas, with partly cloudy skies. However, in north Bihar, isolated locations in Araria, Kishanganj and Supaul districts may witness light rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning, with wind speeds ranging between 30 to 40 kmph.
Temperature patterns across the state showed fluctuations over the past 24 hours. A drop of 1 to 4 degrees Celsius in maximum temperatures was recorded at several locations. However, except for Valmikinagar, Motihari and Sasaram, most districts, including Patna, reported a rise in daytime temperatures.
Patna recorded a maximum temperature of 36.8 degrees Celsius, an increase of 3 degrees from the previous day. Kaimur district reported the highest maximum temperature in the state at 41.9 degrees Celsius. Dry weather conditions continued in and around the capital due to the influence of westerly winds.
Among major cities, Gaya recorded a maximum temperature of 40.4 degrees Celsius, making it the hottest during the day, while Muzaffarpur reported the highest minimum temperature at 24.2 degrees Celsius, marking the warmest night.
