Patna: Weather conditions are expected to change across Bihar over the next few days, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting thunderstorms, gusty winds, and light to moderate rainfall in several districts.
According to the latest alert issued by the IMD’s Patna Meteorological Centre, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, strong winds, and rain are likely across the state for the next four days. Wind speeds during this period may reach 40 to 60 kmph, raising concerns about potential damage in some areas.
Officials warned that strong winds could lead to tree branches breaking and disruptions in electricity supply. The impact is expected to be more pronounced in districts of south and central Bihar.
Meteorologists said the changing weather pattern could bring a slight drop in daytime temperatures, offering temporary relief from the prevailing heat. However, sudden weather fluctuations may also affect public health.
The administration has advised residents to remain indoors during thunderstorms and avoid standing in open spaces or under trees during strong winds and lightning.
Farmers have also been urged to take precautionary measures to protect their crops and ensure proper drainage arrangements in fields to prevent damage due to rainfall.
