Patna: The weather across Bihar is expected to remain dry and normal due to westerly winds, according to the Meteorological Center in Patna. However, some districts, including Gopalganj, Buxar, Kaimur, and Rohtas, may experience light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning. A yellow alert has been issued for these areas, warning of winds blowing at speeds of 30-40 km per hour.
Cloudy Skies in Patna
Patna and its surrounding areas are likely to witness partly cloudy conditions with a chance of drizzle in some places. The maximum temperature is expected to remain stable over the next 72 hours, while the minimum temperature may rise by 1 to 3 degrees over the next 48 hours.
Khagaria and Gopalganj Record Highest Temperatures
On Wednesday, Patna experienced partly cloudy weather with a drop of 1.4°C from the normal temperature. The city recorded a maximum temperature of 34.7°C, while Khagaria and Gopalganj were the hottest locations in the state, registering a maximum of 37.5°C.
The maximum temperature across Bihar ranged between 33.6°C and 38.9°C, with many places witnessing a 1-2°C rise above normal. Strong winds were observed in Bhojpur, while partly cloudy weather kept conditions relatively normal in Patna and nearby areas.
Farmers in Siwan Concerned Over Changing Weather
With the arrival of April, the rising daytime temperature—crossing 37°C—has raised concerns among farmers in Siwan. Cloudy skies have sparked fears of hailstorms, which could severely damage wheat crops as harvesting begins.
Farmers are particularly worried as previous instances have shown that rainfall during this period often brings hailstorms, potentially affecting cash crops such as parwal, bitter gourd, ladyfinger, bottle gourd, watermelon, cucumber, and kakdi. This could lead to a sharp rise in vegetable prices.
According to meteorologists, cloudy weather and lower temperatures are expected to persist until April 3.
