Patna: With the arrival of Vasant Panchami, Bihar is experiencing a rise in temperatures. Over the next four days, the minimum temperature across the state, including Patna, is expected to increase by 1 to 3 degrees Celsius. However, a drop in minimum temperatures is likely after February 8 due to a strong western disturbance.
According to the IMD, a western disturbance entered Bihar on February 3, but its impact has been minimal. However, after its influence subsides on February 6, another strong western disturbance is expected on February 8, which could bring snowfall in the hilly regions and rainfall in the plains. The westerly winds during this period may cause a slight drop in minimum temperatures, but there will be no extreme cold day conditions.
During the winter season, air pollution has worsened in many parts of the state. On Monday, Purnia recorded the worst air quality, with an AQI of 202, falling under the “poor” category.
Patna will witness clear skies today, with light fog in the morning. As the day progresses, sunshine will prevail, and low wind speeds will prevent a strong cold sensation. The maximum temperature is expected to range between 28 to 32 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature may hover between 16 to 20 degrees Celsius.
District-Wise Temperature Update
- Buxar was the hottest district, recording a maximum temperature of 28.9 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours.
- Samastipur was the coldest district, with the minimum temperature recorded at 9.5 degrees Celsius.
- The Meteorological Department has released temperature data for 10 districts, indicating a gradual warming trend across Bihar.
As Bihar transitions toward warmer days, residents can expect mild weather conditions with occasional fluctuations due to upcoming western disturbances.
