Kaimur: Bihar’s first wildlife eco park, named ‘Maa Mundeshwari’, has opened to the public. Spread over 14 acres, the sanctuary has been developed with a focus on environmental conservation and education. It aims to serve as both a tourist attraction and a learning centre for students, offering insights into wildlife and nature.
The eco park is divided into three sections—a hilly area covering 7 acres, a flatland section of 5 acres, and another 2-acre flatland area. It is named after the historic Maa Mundeshwari Temple in Kaimur district, believed to be one of the oldest temples in India.
A blend of nature and architecture
Built using natural stones, bamboo, and metal structures, the eco park seamlessly integrates with the surrounding environment. A metal foot-over bridge connects two sections of the park, while tree houses, bamboo footbridges, and safety railings have been installed to ensure a secure experience for visitors.
Life-sized wildlife sculptures and an open-air theatre
One of the park’s highlights is its life-sized sculptures of various wild animals, including hippos, giraffes, lions, and dinosaurs. These installations have been strategically placed to depict the life cycle of dinosaurs.
Additionally, the eco park features an open-air theatre, constructed using local stones and boulders, with a seating capacity of 300-400 people. This space will host cultural events, workshops, and environmental awareness programs. Another unique attraction is the Rainbow Pergolas Gateways, adding to the park’s aesthetic appeal.
