Begusarai: A delegation from Bihar, led by Labour Resource Department Secretary Deepak Anand, embarked on a four-day visit to Bengaluru to explore advanced approaches in skill development and vocational education. The visit focused on studying Karnataka’s modern policies and models to implement them in Bihar.
As part of the visit, Secretary Anand held discussions with Karnataka’s Secretary for Panchayati Raj and the Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship, and Livelihood, Ekroop Kaur. The meeting emphasized sharing best practices in skill development between the two states. On the occasion, Anand presented a symbolic memento of the “Mountain Man” Dashrath Manjhi, showcasing Bihar’s rich cultural heritage.
The delegation also toured prominent industries such as Shahi Exports and Arvind Mills Limited, where Anand interacted with young women from Bihar employed under the RTD scheme after receiving skill training. He gathered insights into their experiences and the impact of their training on their careers.
In addition, the team visited the Nittur Technical Training Foundation (NTTF), where they observed state-of-the-art labs specializing in robotics, pneumatic systems, and centers of excellence. Anand also reviewed the operational frameworks of Bengaluru’s KGTTI model and the industrial collaboration-based ITI Peenya.
Bihar is already collaborating with Tata Technologies to establish mega skill centers and centers of excellence in the state. These initiatives aim to equip the youth with modern technical skills aligned with market demands.
By studying Karnataka’s policies and models, the Bihar government seeks to adopt and integrate best practices to enhance skill development in the state. The visit reinforced Bihar’s commitment to connecting its youth with global skill standards, ensuring better employment opportunities. Anand expressed his dedication to implementing the insights gained from the Bengaluru visit to uplift the state’s workforce and vocational training standards.
