Munger/ Patna: The body of a 15-year-old girl, a Class 10 student of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Danapur, was found on the railway tracks near Abhaypur railway station in Munger on Thursday night. Her family has alleged foul play and demanded a fair investigation.
The deceased, a resident of Noorpur Chandmari in Danapur, had gone missing on Wednesday afternoon after leaving school for coaching classes. According to her father, a retired army soldier, she usually returned home by 2.30pm but did not come back that day. After an extensive search, the family lodged a missing report at Danapur police station.
The body was discovered in school uniform, with both legs broken, a fractured hand, and deep wounds on her head and face. Her school bag and identity card were found at the scene, which helped in identifying her.
The family said she had last been seen in CCTV footage riding a bicycle with three other youths after an alleged argument with a boy near the school gate. “She was very good in studies and the brightest among her siblings,” said her brother-in-law. “There is no way she would take her own life.”
Khushi’s last rites were conducted on Friday after postmortem at Sadar Hospital. Railway Station House Officer Swaraj Kumar confirmed that a case has been filed against unidentified persons and an investigation is underway.
Police have yet to make any arrests, and the family continues to press for justice, convinced that the girl was murdered.
