Protests demanding the cancellation of the BPSC 70th Preliminary Exam intensified in Patna on Monday, with educator Khan Sir urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene. Khan Sir warned that delays could escalate student anger, likening the movement to the farmers’ Satyagraha.

BPSC 70th Exam Row

Patna: Hundreds of candidates took to the streets of Patna on Monday, demanding the cancellation of the BPSC 70th Preliminary Examination (PT) over alleged irregularities. Noted educators Faizal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir and Guru Rahman joined the demonstration, intensifying calls for a re-examination.

Khan Sir urged the Bihar government to scrap the exam warning that student frustration could escalate. “We have presented evidence, and the government must conduct the exam again. We also appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene,” he said.

‘Re-Exam Necessary to Restore Trust’

Addressing the protestors, Khan Sir likened the agitation to the farmers’ Satyagraha, cautioning that student anger should not be ignored. “The government must act before this resentment turns into hatred. If the double-engine government does not listen to the students, what’s the point of boasting about it? Conducting a re-exam is the only way to address these concerns,” he said.

He further alleged that question papers had been changed at multiple centres, and in some locations, papers had gone missing from treasuries. “Today, the number of protestors is high, but it will double tomorrow. The sooner a re-exam is conducted, the sooner students will return to their studies.”

Allegations of Exam Rigging

Candidates have been protesting for months over alleged malpractices in the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) exam, particularly at the Bapu Examination Centre in Patna on December 13. Students claim widespread irregularities and have demanded a thorough investigation.

On Monday, demonstrators marched from Musallahpur Haat to Gardanibagh, renewing their calls for justice and a fresh examination.
