  • 🚗 Bihar is set to strengthen road safety standards with a major change in the driving licence process. Soon, applicants seeking a Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) licence will be required to complete certified training from a recognised driving institute before obtaining their licence.

The decision, approved by the Bihar Road Safety Council, aims to ensure that new drivers receive proper training in traffic rules, road safety practices, and responsible driving behaviour. With 41 operational driving training schools already functioning across the state and more institutes under development, the initiative is expected to improve driving standards and contribute to reducing road accidents.

Officials say the reform will help create a culture of safer and more disciplined driving across Bihar, placing greater emphasis on skill-based training before drivers take to the roads.
