Patna: Bihar State Power Transmission Company Limited (BSPTCL) has once again been awarded the prestigious A+ Rating by the Government of India undertaking, Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFC), marking a significant achievement for Bihar’s power transmission sector.
The latest performance assessment, conducted by PFC on June 5, classified BSPTCL in the A+ category. The rating became effective from May 13 and will remain valid until the issuance of the next notification.
The top-category rating reflects BSPTCL’s operational efficiency, transparency, quality of service and sustained efforts towards organisational improvement. The company has consistently secured high rankings in PFC’s evaluations through continuous enhancements in governance practices, infrastructure management and service delivery.
Transmission Infrastructure Strengthened
Ajay Yadav, IAS, Energy Secretary and Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited (BSPHCL), said Bihar’s power transmission infrastructure has witnessed substantial progress in recent years.
He stated that the state transmission utility has played a key role in supporting power distribution companies by providing a strong and reliable transmission network, enabling the delivery of quality electricity to consumers across Bihar.
Yadav said BSPTCL has been instrumental in ensuring uninterrupted power transmission throughout the state and expressed satisfaction over the company’s achievement of securing the highest A+ Rating in PFC’s ranking of power utilities.

Rahul Kumar, IAS, Managing Director of BSPTCL, said the company’s repeated achievement of the A+ Rating reflects its strong overall performance and commitment to maintaining a robust power transmission system.
He said the recognition highlights BSPTCL’s sound financial management, timely execution of projects and operational efficiency in the power transmission sector.
Kumar added that the company remains committed to further strengthening Bihar’s transmission network to support the state’s growing electricity demand and ensure reliable power supply.
