Patna : A high-profile abduction has sparked concern after real estate developer Srikant was kidnapped outside the airport shortly after arriving from Delhi on Saturday evening. The dramatic incident, believed to be linked to a financial dispute involving crores, led to the swift arrest of three suspects.
According to investigators, the kidnappers were lying in wait and forced Srikant into a black SUV (registration BR 01FN7803) as he exited the terminal. He was then driven around the city and assaulted, while his abductors demanded repayment of Rs 3.5 crore — a sum allegedly tied to a transaction involving his brother.
The case came to light after Srikant’s niece, Rinki, lodged a complaint. Using CCTV footage, police tracked down the vehicle and rescued the victim from the Chitkohra area within 24 hours. The arrested individuals have been identified as Bablu Giri, Manish Kumar and Vikas Anand.
“Srikant’s brother, who has links to the film industry, is believed to be connected to the disputed sum. Both siblings are based in Delhi,” a police official said.
Authorities believe the group used multiple vehicles — including two SUVs and two motorbikes — to carry out the operation. Raids are ongoing to track down additional suspects, with officials promising a detailed briefing on the case in the coming days.
