Buxar: Good news has arrived for sports lovers and young players in Bihar’s Buxar district. The state government has approved the construction of a modern, state-level mega stadium at the famous ITI ground in Buxar. The project, which will cost around Rs 43.38 crore, is being seen as a long-awaited gift for the district, where players have struggled for years due to the lack of proper sports infrastructure. With this decision, Buxar is expected to move towards a new and stronger sporting future.
The proposed stadium will be developed as a complete sports complex with modern facilities. Officials say it will support track and field events along with popular games such as cricket, football, kabaddi and volleyball. Special attention will be given to making the stadium suitable for training and competitions throughout the year. Facilities like floodlights, an underground drainage system, a fitness centre and a hostel for players will also be built so that athletes can train and play without interruption, even during the rainy season.
The responsibility of building the stadium has been given to the Bihar State Building Construction Corporation Limited. According to officials, the final design of the project is ready and the tender process has already begun. Once the tender is finalised, construction work will start soon. For young players from Buxar, this stadium will mean they no longer have to travel to other districts or states for good training grounds or major tournaments. They will be able to prepare and compete at a higher level within their own district.
The stadium project also fulfils an important promise made by the chief minister during his recent progress tour of Buxar. At that time, local youths and representatives had strongly demanded a proper sports stadium, pointing out how the district had been ignored for years. The chief minister had assured them that their demand would be considered, and the approval of this project has now turned that assurance into reality.
Apart from helping players, the mega stadium is expected to benefit the local economy. Large sports events will attract athletes, coaches and spectators from outside Buxar, increasing business for hotels, transport services, shops and food outlets. Over time, the district could gain recognition as a sports tourism destination in Bihar.
For the people of Buxar, the Rs 43.38 crore stadium is more than just a new structure. It represents hope, opportunity and a fresh start for sports in the district. As the long period of neglect comes to an end, local players and sports enthusiasts are looking forward to a future where Buxar has a strong presence on the state’s sporting map.
