Patna: A car burst into flames on the JP Ganga Digha-Sonepur bridge in Patna this afternoon following a high-speed collision with a pickup truck. All three occupants of the car, coming from Hajipur, managed to escape the burning vehicle just moments after the impact.
Eyewitnesses at the scene reported that the accident, which occurred in the middle of the bridge over the Ganga River, was a direct result of overspeeding. The car, traveling at a rapid pace, reportedly slammed into the rear of the pickup truck when the latter suddenly braked.
Chaos erupted on the bridge immediately after the collision. Fortunately, people in both vehicles quickly jumped out, narrowly avoiding serious injury as the car quickly ignited.
Emergency services, including the fire brigade, were immediately dispatched to control the blaze. The incident has caused a significant disruption, leading to a kilometer-long traffic jam on the route from Patna towards the Digha bridge. Authorities are working to clear the scene and restore normal traffic flow.
