Patna: Newly sworn-in JD(U) MLA Chetan Anand, son of former MP Anand Mohan, sparked political attention on Monday after he was seen touching the feet of RJD legislative party leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav inside the Bihar Assembly, shortly after seeking the chief minister’s blessings.
Speaking to reporters after the gesture prompted widespread discussion, Anand said differences in political ideology should not be mistaken for personal conflict.
“Differences of opinion and disagreement are two different things. We may have different ideologies, but there was never any such disagreement,” he said. “A difference of opinion does not mean our relationship is over.”
Responding to allegations branding him a “Jaychand” — a term often used to accuse someone of betrayal — Anand said those making the accusations should be questioned instead. He added that the individuals he had spoken about earlier, whom he accused of causing harm, were later also publicly named by Rohini Acharya and Tej Pratap Yadav.
