Patna: In preparation for Chhath Puja 2024, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar conducted an inspection of the Ganga Ghats in Patna, reviewing arrangements from Nasriganj Ghat to Kangan Ghat via steamer. During his visit, the Chief Minister directed officials to ensure that Chhath devotees encounter no issues while offering Arghya, emphasizing the importance of proper cleanliness, security, and facilities at the Ghats.
The Chief Minister instructed that safety measures, including strong barricading near the Ghats and along access roads, be set up to maintain order and protect devotees. He also stressed the importance of clear signage and miking to guide devotees on ghat arrangements and ensure smooth movement. Traffic and toilet facilities were also prioritized, aiming to provide a hassle-free experience for devotees.
Present for the inspection were Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Bihar Legislative Assembly Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav, Energy Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav, and Building Construction Minister Jayant Raj, among other senior officials. Notable attendees included Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena, Principal Secretaries Deepak Kumar and Santosh Kumar Malla, Secretary to Chief Minister Anupam Kumar, and Patna District Magistrate Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, along with key police officials and municipal authorities.
Speaking with journalists, Chief Minister Kumar highlighted the importance of annual inspections at Chhath Ghats, stating that all efforts are focused on ensuring a seamless experience for Chhath devotees. He emphasized that comprehensive arrangements are in place to support devotees in performing Chhath Puja smoothly on the Ganga Ghats.
