Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Lays Foundation Stone for 210 Developmental Schemes in Supaul District Worth Rs 298 Crore

Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 210 developmental schemes in Supaul district, amounting to Rs 298.07 crore, through remote from Gram Panchayat Bakour in Supaul. This included the inauguration of 52 schemes worth Rs 134.23 crore and the foundation stone laying of 158 schemes worth Rs 163.85 crore. The event was part of the ongoing Pragati Yatra.

Inauguration of Developmental Works

During his visit, the Chief Minister took stock of the ongoing construction of the Bakour bridge over the Kosi River under the Eastern Kosi embankment. He also inspected various developmental works in Bijalpur rehabilitation tola under Gram Panchayat Bakour. Key inaugurations included the construction of a staircase ghat around Parsauni public pond, footpath development, and dredging work under the Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Yojana.

Praises for Women Empowerment Initiatives

The Chief Minister interacted with local women, especially those involved with Jeevika self-help groups. He appreciated their contributions to improving the economic status of women in Bihar. Since 2005, the state has formed over 10 lakh self-help groups, with more than 1 crore women benefiting from these initiatives. He also mentioned the expansion of self-help groups in urban areas, with over 26,000 groups formed so far.

Symbolic Cheques Distributed to Beneficiaries

Symbolic Cheques Distributed to Beneficiaries

During the event, the Chief Minister distributed symbolic cheques to various beneficiaries. These included Rs 13.85 crore in bank loans for 554 Jeevika self-help groups, Rs 20.72 crore under the Revolving Fund to 2,043 groups, and Rs 1.72 crore under the Sustainable Livelihood Scheme to 452 beneficiaries. Other symbolic cheques were provided for schemes like the Bihar Small Entrepreneur Scheme, Inter-caste Marriage Promotion, and various other empowerment programs.

Infrastructure and Housing Projects

The Chief Minister also inaugurated the renovation of Primary School Parasauni Hindi Bhawan at a cost of Rs 21.02 lakh and released the ‘Samadhaan’ Year 2025 booklet, related to public grievance redressal actions in Supaul. He further inspected the Anganwadi Center in Parsauni and interacted with children and teachers.

Focus on Infrastructure Development

The Chief Minister inspected the proposed bypass in Triveniganj and Pipra Bazaar, both planned to be 6 km long with an estimated cost of Rs 50 crore each. Additionally, a 1.2 km long flyover will be built in Simrahi Bazaar, estimated at Rs 95 crore. He emphasized the convenience these projects will bring to local commuters.

Inauguration of Dairy Plant and Nagar Bhawan

The Chief Minister inaugurated the expanded Sudha Dairy plant in Supaul district at a cost of Rs 24.13 crore. This plant will double the milk processing capacity from one lakh liters per day to two lakh liters. He also inaugurated the newly constructed Nagar Bhawan at a cost of Rs 8.88 crore and distributed appointment letters to 15 female supervisors, 15 Bal Grih workers, and 54 home guards.

Inspection of Local Amenities

The Chief Minister later visited the newly constructed Nagar Bhawan pond and appreciated the community space. He also inspected the outdoor stadium in Supaul, where he encouraged officials to ensure proper renovations and improve sports facilities for local athletes.

Government Ministers and Senior Officials Present

The event was attended by several prominent figures, including Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Animal and Fisheries Resources Minister Renu Devi, Social Welfare Minister Madan Sahni, Public Health Engineering Minister Neeraj Kumar Singh, and several district officials.

The Chief Minister concluded his visit by reiterating his commitment to the ongoing development of Supaul and the state as a whole, with a focus on infrastructure, women’s empowerment, and economic growth.
